Human Systems
Level of healthcare- Japan’s healthcare system is one of the best due to the low price of it. Basic healthcare services cost about $20, and there are no records of people in japan going bankrupt due to healthcare services.
Education system- After WW2, America reformed the Japanese education system into a replica of the American education system, 6 years of elementary school (back then elementary school was grades K-6) 3 years of middle school, 3 years of high school, and 4 years of college. Today, japan has one of the best education systems in the world, with 3 semesters each school year starting in April. In japan without an education it is very difficult not to struggle with life, dropping out of high school will most likely result that person becoming a beggar and living on the street (no, McDonald’s wouldn’t even hire you.) The high school dropout rate is only at 2%, but it is is slowly increasing.
Standard of living- The standard of living is very high, but this is actually a problem. By 2050, 1 out of 3 people will be retired. The birth rate is currently at 1.25 babies per woman. The crisis is that the workforce being too small to support the huge number of people retiring.
